Forum Username Code

Hello! You may have seen some threads or signatures recently that seem like they are talking to you. Meaning they mention your username.

For example:
“Hi Guest how are you today? Did you go to the cleaning event Guest”

While it seems like the above message is talking to just you it’s actually a code that will display the username of the person reading the message.

This is the code:

 “Hi {USERNAME} how are you today? Did you go to the cleaning event {USERNAME}”


There is no reason to be alarmed or worried. No one is messing with you or your account. Rest assured that everything is safe and while this may seem alarming it’s a code most often used to personalize things. Hearing someone speak seemingly directly to you is usually preferred over a general message to all.

In conclusion, we have decided to not allow this code to be used on the forums right now. It has seemed to create a problem for some of our members and currently, please refrain from using it in posts and in your signatures. Thank you!
